IDEAL NETWORKING PROFILE

So many resources offer invaluable advice around the idea of establishing your ideal client profile (i.e. Getting Clients, Keeping Clients, which is industry-specific to financial advisors, and The Pumpkin Plan by Mike Michalowicz, to name a few). As I shared earlier, I am a big fan of going through this process of establishing minimums and attracting clients with shared interests.

However, not much has been provided in terms of focusing your networking efforts around other professionals who are aligned with you. When first starting out, we are likely to take on just about anyone as a client. As we grow and have more options, we tend to be more selective.

The process of identifying who deserves to be in your network should be no different. In the beginning, you’d have anyone who would have you. As your business and network grow, your focus should be on establishing relationships only with high-quality professionals. High quality doesn’t always translate into ideal, however.
